Our client is a leading asset management firm specializing in infrastructure investments. They manage a diverse portfolio of infrastructure assets across various sectors, including energy, transportation, utilities, and telecommunications. Committed to sustainable investing, they prioritize Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors in our investment decisions to generate long-term value for their clients and stakeholders.
The firm are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of ESG to lead their ESG efforts within the infrastructure investment division. The successful candidate will drive the integration of ESG principles across the investment processes, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement activities. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Head of ESG will play a critical role in enhancing ESG performance, managing risks, and maximizing opportunities across our infrastructure investments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement ESG Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive ESG strategy tailored to infrastructure investments, aligned with the company's overall sustainability objectives and industry best practices.
Integrate ESG into Investment Processes: Work closely with investment teams to integrate ESG considerations into the investment lifecycle, including due diligence, investment decision-making, and asset management practices.
ESG Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate ESG-related risks across infrastructure investments, including climate change, social impact, regulatory compliance, and reputational risks.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with investors, regulators, industry stakeholders, and community representatives to enhance transparency, disclosure, and accountability regarding ESG performance within our infrastructure portfolio.
ESG Reporting and Disclosure: Oversee the development of ESG reporting frameworks, metrics, and disclosures to effectively communicate our ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and industry bodies.
Stay Abreast of ESG Trends: Monitor global ESG trends, regulatory developments, and industry initiatives relevant to infrastructure investments, and incorporate emerging best practices into our ESG strategy and processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, environmental studies, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in ESG management, sustainable investing, or related fields, with a focus on infrastructure or asset management.
Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD), and regulatory requirements applicable to infrastructure investments.
Proven track record of successfully integrating ESG considerations into investment decision-making processes and portfolio management practices.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute ESG strategies aligned with business objectives and industry trends.
Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or ESG-related certifications are a plus.
