In doing so we will create a sustainable future for our people and our customers, reshaping and influencing the industries we operate in.Working in partnership with our customer we intend to achieve the extraordinary.About The RoleWe currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced individual to join the business as Head of Environment & Sustainability on a 12 month contract (Maternity Cover)Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs part of your day to day role, you are responsible for the following:Provide environmental advice and support to management, the HSEQ team and project management teams across all of LSL business activities / departments.Lead on Corporate Social Responsibility strategy & objectives and delivery of same in line with company and client requirementsLead on sustainability strategy for the business and liaise with responsible managers to deliver the objectives of that strategy.Work with the Group Head of HSEQ to develop environmental targets and objectives in line with business, industry and client expectations.Provide support to the tenders team in providing environmental, CSR and sustainability responses to tender questions.Support compliance with ISO14001 by assisting to continuously develop and maintain the integrated management system.Undertake high level reporting on environmental, CSR and Sustainability matters on behalf of LSL to UK and European regulatory bodiesSupport monitoring for environmental, CSR & sustainability performance through external / accreditation audit preparation, auditing of suppliers to LSL and undertaking internal audits and site monitoring.Develop / Review EMP/SWMPs and all other subject matter documentation as required by LSL or any clients.Develop subject matter briefings and support development of training packages.Supporting facilities and project management in determining waste management arrangements.Provide support in developing and maintaining aspects and impacts assessments.Conduct carbon footprint measurements and reporting.Support statistical analysis and report production.The above list is not exhaustive; you will occasionally be asked to undertake additional duties where it is reasonable and appropriate.Be a Full member of IEMA or equivalent (FIEMA)Be a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)Posses an environmental sciences degree or equivalentHave at least 5 years construction experience – preferably within rail.Practically applied knowledge of environmental requirements set out in legislation.ScheduleMonday to Friday, Office based position.LocationUnit 2-4 Sheffield Business Park, Churchill Way, Chapeltown, Sheffield, S35 2PYWhen you join Linbrooke, you are entitled to our outstanding benefits and wellbeing plan as part of your position.Hybrid Working: Find the right balance that works for you.
