We are looking for a Head of English to join the team starting September 2024.
About the role
You will lead your department and advice the Deputy Head Academic about the staffing needs and provision of resources. You will look at the curriculum as a whole and be prepared to co-operate with other Heads of Department. You should also support the Deputy Head Academic and Learning with curriculum developments. You will ensure that Departmental expenditure is contained within the budget.
You will monitor the work and progress of pupils in your subject and ensure continuity of work and records.

Who we are looking for
To be considered for this role you will have a degree in English/English Literature, QTS or other appropriate teaching qualification and be an experienced English Teacher. We would also expect;
An exemplary classroom practitioner
An awareness of curriculum issues relating to chosen subject.
Meeting the needs of students with Special Educational Needs and the More Able and Talented
Awareness and promotion of the use of Edtech in the subject curriculum
Pastoral work in a school setting
