Job Title: Head of EngineeringLocation: Edinburgh, ScotlandCompany Overview: Our client is an innovative fin-tech/legal-tech company, we are exclusively seeking a Head of Engineering to lead a new talented team in Edinburgh. As the Head of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technology landscape (actively hiring a team), driving innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.Responsibilities:Leadership : Provide strategic direction and inspire the engineering team to achieve departmental goals.Project Oversight : Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Resource Management : Assign workloads to engineering teams, optimize resource allocation, and foster collaboration.Technical Guidance : Offer hands-on technical guidance, especially in areas such as JavaScript, React.JS, and AWS.Budgeting and Scheduling : Estimate project budgets and schedules, ensuring efficient resource utilization.Stakeholder Communication : Collaborate with senior management, vendors, and clients, providing regular updates and negotiating project requirements.Quality Assurance : Ensure high-quality software development practices and adherence to best practices.Innovation : Drive innovation within the engineering function, exploring new technologies and methodologies.Requirements:Technical Expertise : Proficiency in JavaScript, React.JS, and AWS. You will be teaching and mentoring both junior and senior team members in these areas whilst leading from the front.Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional engineering teams.Project Management : Experience overseeing complex projects from inception to completion.Communication : Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strategic Thinking : Ability to align engineering efforts with overall business objectives.Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Collaboration : Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.Previous experience in a leadership role within a technology-driven organization.JBRP1_UKTJ
