The Supply Register is currently working in partnership with Ark Academy in Wembley to find a passionate Head of Economics who is committed to ensuring every child is challenged to achieve their maximum potential.

We are looking for  a teacher who has  the passion, enthusiasm, alongside the skills and desire to develop and nurture every child in their care. You will deliver consistently excellent teaching and learning in a growing sixth form, helping students to achieve excellent results. 

The successful candidate is expected  to be a strong A Level Economics teacher instilling in pupils a love for the subject and a desire to learn.   

The ideal candidate will: 

• be an outstanding teacher of Economics or have the potential to become outstanding 
• be experienced in raising or the desire to raise attainment in a challenging classroom environment 
• have proven experience working or the desire to work successfully with students of all abilities 
• be committed to Ark’s ethos of high expectations and no excuses and the belief that every child can succeed 
• have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of pupils. 

Requirements:

• Must hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications for the UK
• Evidence of being, or having the potential to be, an outstanding teacher and leader of the subject
• Up to date knowledge in the curriculum area
• An understanding of what an outstanding education looks like in the classroom.
• An understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high expectations.
• Must have the Right to work in the UK
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process one
• Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 years’ worth of professional references
