Role: Head of Design Studio
Location: Loughborough

Salary / Rate of pay: £65,000

Platinum Recruitment is working in partnership with a popular an international Interior furnishings company, who have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Design Studio to join their team.

Package

  • £65,000 per annum + 5% discretionary bonus (based on personal & company performance) + benefits detailed below
  • Reporting to Creative & Commercial Director of Manufacturing
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

As Head of Design Studio, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the design studio by leading the team and ensuring the successful execution of design projects while meeting business objectives. With a proud history stretching back more than 100 years, this client has achieved an enviable reputation as one of the most versatile, professional and capable wallcovering printers in the world. We cover the full spectrum of printing technologies, old and new alike with machines including Surface & Surflex, Flexographic, Gravure, Rotary/Gravure Hybrid, Rotary Screen, Digital, Flat Screen, a Scattering Line, Converting machinery as well as Hand Block Printing.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality design and support the marketing of products and capabilities

* Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment

* Assign and delegate design projects to team members based on their skills and expertise

* Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development

* Promote a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence in design execution

* Oversee the end-to-end project management process, ensuring timely delivery of design projects while adhering to quality standards

* Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to gather project requirements, establish project scopes, and manage expectations

* Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project progress to ensure on time and within-budget delivery

* Anticipate and mitigate potential project risks and issues, making necessary adjustments to meet project goals

* Work to create a timeline aligned with business requirements for marketing all exhibitions, products and capabilities

* Stay updated with industry trends, emerging design technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and elevate the quality of design deliverables

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their design needs, and providing exceptional customer service

* Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field and/or equivalent

* Proven experience (10 years) in managing a design studio or team

* Experienced Designer

* Knowledge of trends & fabrics

* Commercial experience of the Interior Fabrics market UK & Export

* Excellent technical knowledge of print & woven textiles

* Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

* Proficient in design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite/AVA/CAD

* Excellent understanding of design principles, visual aesthetics, and user-centred design methodologies

* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team

* Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
