DNV is seeking a Head of Department, Power System Advisory, to lead our power system advisory team, to set the strategy and vision, to grow a business supporting our customers through of their current and future power system advisory needs. The Head of Department, Power System Advisory offers strategic leadership, people management, networks to on-board new customers and services, and seeks new ways to delight current customers to ensure repeat business. They will be aware of market opportunities where we can differentiate, change business models, and lead innovation initiatives. They will work closely on commercial opportunities to strengthen and expand the business, including driving the doer/seller culture, and adapting the service offerings to respond where customers perceive the greatest level of market risk. They will partner with key account managers and regional segment managers in delivering an excellent customer experience while stimulating collaboration within their department as well across the organization. They will ensure that their leaders and the employees within the department have the right capabilities and strive for a high-performing, collaborative culture and exceptional employee experience.
This position can be located in our Dallas, TX; Katy, TX; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, MA; San Diego, CA and Oakland, CA offices What You'll Do Provides industry-leading technical and data-forward services tailored to the needs of utilities, renewable energy project developers, and transmission line developers.
Identifies and capitalizes on business opportunities based on deep understanding of customer needs and value creation for renewable plant owners and operators. Facilitates continuous innovation and improvement to build and maintain a leading position in power system advisory services.
Leads business development and strategy efforts, solidifying relationships with key customers, creating new customer opportunities, actively positioning DNV with the equity and owner/operator communities as a preferred technical consultant Stimulates a high performing culture, sets direction, and acts as a role model for an inspiring employee experience.
Ensures efficient & consistent delivery of services in line with customer expectations. Creates and sustains a culture of saving and organizing one of our most precious assets: our data.
Optimizes business performance through delivery management, cost-efficient business operations and an aligned workforce plan. Empowers employees, fosters professional growth and progression. Serves as a member of the Renewable and Power Grids leadership team. Supports the regional leadership team in Energy Systems, and DNV’s strategy and decision making. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado, New York City, NY, California, and Washington only, the starting pay range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000What is RequiredBachelor’s degree is required. 10+ years of relevant industry experience is required. Strong track record of designing and executing on strategy and building businesses across multiple customer segments. Track record of leading teams with different knowledge and skill sets. Strong understanding of the needs of renewable energy project developers, utilities and transmission line developers as it relates to power system services. Professionally handlesdifficultconversations with customers,for example on scope and budget issues or differences intechnicalopinions, while strengthening customer relationships. Identifies and communicates data and innovationneeds, the customer problems and the business opportunity. Demonstrated ability and willingness to drive thought leadership in the industry.
