About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Head of Data Engineering to spearhead our Data & MLOps scaling strategy and creatively lead the development of our AI-based features. This role seats in the Tech Team, and you will report to the CTO.We're a growing start-up with plenty of room for progression and making the role your own. Key ResponsibilitiesGuide us in scaling and extending our AI-based product featuresArchitect and lead the implementation of our MLOps infrastructure, including data collection, labelling, storage, processing and QA in order to enable rapid continuous learning of our modelsAdvocate for Data and ML as part of the Leadership Team strategic effortsWork closely with our Operations team to execute our data scaling strategyDesign, implement and manage ML algorithmsLead development of hard computer vision features like visual weighing or health assessment for chickensLead and mentor the the Computer Vision team, with scope of line managing it in the futureSupport hiring efforts to grow the Computer Vision teamWe would love to meet you if you have all or some of these requirements7+ years of commercial experience developing AI-based products, with a focus on Computer Vision3+ years of implementing and/or architecting MLOpsMSc or PhD in a related subject matterExperience with our tech stack: Python (NumPy, Scipy, Pandas, etc.), OpenCV, PyTorchStrong leadership experience i.e. a team of 3+ peopleStrong experience in taking research ideas into production at scaleAbility to empathise with and mentor the team, and lead with kindnessExperience working and managing teams in an Agile environmentCan commute to our East London HQ minimum x2 days a weekStart-up / scale-up experience a bonus (we are working towards our Series A)A natural enthusiasm for keeping up to date with new technologies and methodologiesCompensation, Perks & BenefitsGBP80k-GBP110k salary depending on experience and locationGBP80k+ share options packageFlexible working25 days' holidays (excluding bank holidays)Lunch and snacks provided in the officeInclusive and relaxed company culture: we welcome everyone, we encourage you to be yourself and dress as you likeExposure to state-of-the-art technologiesA welcoming and international work environmentA chance to work with well-respected experts, including AI and robotics Create a job alert and receive personalised job recommendations straight to your inbox.
