We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Engineering Lead to join a busy team as the Head of Data Engineering & Data Governance.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for building a robust and efficient data infrastructure, overseeing the development, implementation, and governance of DataVaults and Kimball-style data warehouses/data marts.
As the Head of Data Engineering & Data Governance, you will be responsible for developing a data engineering strategy aligned with the organisation's strategy, defining and enforcing data engineering standards and best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will also provide technical leadership and direction, establish and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, and drive the adoption of test-driven development (TDD) methodologies in data engineering projects. The role will also oversee the management of data engineering infrastructure, which may include on-premises servers, cloud-based services, and big data technologies.
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in data engineering, data governance, and data management roles, as well as a strong knowledge of DataVaults and Kimball-style Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies.
Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent
Extensive experience in data engineering, data governance, and data management roles.
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and DBT, testing tools such as Great Expectations or SODA, and familiarity with Snowflake data platform or similar cloud-based data warehousing solutions is also required.
Additionally, experience with data governance frameworks and data compliance regulations and excellent knowledge of SQL and both relational and NoSQL databases is a must-have.
