Head of Customer and Marketing Architecture
Salary: national £120,000, London £140,000
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Customer and Marketing Architecture to coordinate the development and implementation of strategic architectural digital and data solutions that align with our business and technology objectives with a clear focus on OneAviva and customer-centricity.
The current Aviva estate has a broad focus covering different business domains, diverse technology landscape covering multiple vendors and providers. This role could be ideal for you if you have experience with leading Digital Architecture teams, focusing on web, mobile, social, and MarTech technologies along with identifying and driving innovation, standardization, and simplification from a digital perspective.
A bit about the job:
This is a Group Architecture leadership role involving designing a compelling strategy for Customer & Marketing (C&M) through roadmaps, architectural blueprints, and technical designs. The role will require staying abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and standards to enhance business outcomes and drive competitive advantage. You will collaborate with business partners, senior digital leadership, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and make architectural recommendations. An important part of the role is ensuring impact through execution.
You will lead all aspects of the design and implementation of complex technical solutions, ensuring they meet functional requirements, performance benchmarks, and security standards. At the same time, you will drive innovation and continuous improvement in the architecture design and development processes. As the leader of the C&M Architecture organization, you will build and inspire your team to successfully achieve these outcomes. You will develop a vision, set strategic objectives, and foster a collaborative and high-performance environment. In addition to driving day-to-day operations, you will develop talent and ensure that team members are empowered to achieve their potential.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
A strategic problem solver who can translate business goals into actionable architectural plans and solutions. Experience developing and driving long-term architectural roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives. A leader who can grow and run impactful teams in a dynamic environment with a track record of shaping and implementing architecture transformation that delivers measurable benefits. Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who can inspire and influence cross-functional team members alongside external parties including vendor and supplier relationships. A deep understanding of technology and enterprise digital architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies in-depth. Proficiency in designing and implementing digital systems using modern web, mobile, social, Martech, data, integration technologies. An understanding of the domains of insurance, wealth and retirement, including products, services, regulatory requirements, and market trends. Experience working in a financial services or related sector is highly desirable. A problem solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes, analyze complex issues, and develop pragmatic solutions. Experience in resolving architectural challenges and mitigating technical risks effectively.

Salary: national £120,000 and London £140,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity: 25% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
