Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of HE and FE Business to join the team at an ambitious Further Education college based in the North East of England. As the Head of Department, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing the curriculum, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, and fostering a vibrant creative environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Business faculty, including staff recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
Develop and implement innovative and engaging curriculum plans aligned with industry standards and student needs.
Ensure high-quality delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment across all levels of study.
Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence within the department.
Oversee the organisation of performances, productions, and events, providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
Build strong partnerships with industry professionals, local arts organisations, and educational institutions to enhance student's opportunities and experiences.
Monitor and evaluate the department's performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies for enhancement.
Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the implementation and delivery of T-Levels (To be introduced Summer 2024)
Requirements:
A proven track record of successful leadership and management within Business Curriculum in a Further Education setting.
In-depth knowledge of curriculum design, delivery, and assessment in HE and FE Business disciplines.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
The ability to inspire and motivate staff and students to achieve their full potential.
Excellent networking abilities with a keen interest in building partnerships and collaborations.
A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the department and wider college community.
Relevant academic qualifications and professional experience in performing arts, music, or related fields are desirable.
A recognised teaching qualification
Leadership and Management qualification or degree are desirable
