Head of Compliance (Must be SMF16 accredited)Must have head of compliance experience from within a proprietary/ derivatives trading, brokerage or clearer environmentSalary paying up to and over £150kCity of LondonHybrid split (Very flexible but ideally around 2/3 days per week in the office)Permanent roleAbout the role:Must have head of compliance experience from within a proprietary/ derivatives trading environment or through a clearer ideallyMust have SMF16 accreditationOn behalf of proprietary Trading business based in the city (Trading Energy, commodities, options, derivatives etc.)Opportunity to work in the 'big 5' within the business (CEO, COO, General Council etc.) as this is a smaller firm.Role will provide much more autonomy as Head of compliance with opportunity to be involved in strategy and management if desired from the candidate (bonus and salary would reflect this change if decided to move down this path down the line)Will be an integral and highly valued position within the business.Standalone role (with external and well-established compliance consultant + outside counsel/ law firm for support where needed)Great trading firm of 170 people based in the city.Compliance Responsibilities:To manage the Compliance team through a period of transition, providing leadership, encouragement, reassurance, engagement, and support.As Head of Compliance, or Interim Head of Compliance to be responsible for ensuring that the Compliance Department continues to fulfil its primary duties, including (but not limited to):Regulatory & exchange liaison (see also section 4 below), Market abuse surveillance & regulatory reporting (STOR), Implementation of market abuse risk assessment, Compliance policies & procedures maintenance and developmentto lead continued discussions with the FCA, seeking to reach agreement on priorities and enhancements for the Compliance function;to oversee implementation of the actions identified in the recent Market Abuse Risk Assessment, and ongoing refinement of the risk assessment process;to focus in particular on enhancing Scila reports & alerts; visualisation tools for market abuse surveillance; and governance of market abuse alertsto work with management on further consideration of and responses to the FCA ‘Dear CEO’ letter to Principal Trading Firms of 4 Augustto conduct further work on quality assurance & governance of the compliance function and output, including management information & Board reportsSalary paying up to and over £150k.City of LondonHybrid split (Very flexible but ideally around 2/3 days per week in the office)Permanent roleAnnual discretionary bonus (Paid at Christmas time)Apply for Head of Compliance (Must be SMF16 accredited)Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required
