Head of Commercial Finance

Job Description
Our client is a truly international law firm with offices in all the major business location across the globe.
The firm in question are now looking to hire a Head of Commercial Finance. The Business finance team works closely with management, practices, partners and business services teams to assist in driving its strategy, profitability, cash flow and growth. This role will be a 12-month maternity contract.
Responsibilities
The Head of Business Finance, ALT will fulfil a senior and strategic global role, supporting the Managing Partner and Directors within ALT.
The Head of Business Finance, ALT will partner with the ALT Executive to maximise performance and meet the practice group’s business objectives. The key performance measure in this regard is to help grow the global revenue of the Alternative Legal Services business, bringing together regional financial information and trends to improve and enhance global strategic thinking.
The Head of Business Finance, ALT will collaborate with partners and managers, within and outside ALT, to coordinate and drive measures to improve profitability. The role will involve building relationships with key internal contacts, such as Legal Operations, to identify opportunities and help to develop the business.
The role will require a strategic individual who has experience operating in a busy environment. An ability to think creatively will be imperative.
This role will concentrate on business partnering with the Managing Partner, Partners and Directors with ALT to assist with financial management, and the development and implementation of strategic plans.
The Head of Business Finance, ALT will work with the Managing Partner, Partners and Directors to help achieve the expected financial outcomes, including analysis and communication of key financial information, working with the designated regional practice group finance managers.
The role will have responsibility for the management of any issues arising, to ensure the highest standards of delivery.
The Head of Business Finance, ALT will work closely with the wider ALT team to support the planning and implementation of large and complex projects.
Candidate Profile
Previous experience in a senior legal sector role
Minimum 8 years' experience including general management with responsibility for all aspects of profit and loss.
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Finance
Qualifications as a CPA/CA will be highly regarded
Business partnering with a Senior Executive team or Board; identifying profit drivers and improvement opportunities through the analysis of P&L.
