About the Bodleian
The Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford is the largest university library system in the United Kingdom. It includes the principal University library the Bodleian Library which has been a legal deposit library for 400 years; as well as 27 libraries across Oxford. Together, the Libraries hold more than 13million printed items.Collections Management at the Bodleian is a department of over 110 staff responsible for the acquisition, management, and discovery of the Bodleians modern collections.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to play a leading role in delivering transformational change.The Head of Collections Operations Transformation will be responsible for turning the Collections Management function into a centre of excellence, creating a strategy for the effective delivery of operational services; and implementing the resulting programme of business change.
This is a full time, fixed term post for 2 years.
About You
This role will suit you if you:
Have demonstrable experience in continuous improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
Are an experienced leader who can build teams that will meet current and future business needs.
Are able to develop a compelling vision and lead with authenticity and purpose, motivating and engaging staff in a large and complex team.
Are capable of developing strong working relationships that inform and enable the delivery of effective operations.
Have operational and workflow management experience.
Are experienced in planning and leading transformational change, at scale and at pace, through to a successful conclusion and experienced at leading and supporting others through change .
