Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide objective analysis of current and future Clinical Education developments within the trust.
You will support the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer in providing the strategic direction for the organisation in relation to Nursing, Midwifery and AHP Education.
Deputise for the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer in Education related issues, during periods of absence, including contributing to internal and external meetings
To work within the Senior Nursing leadership team to provide professional leadership and clinical education and development to key clinical staff group. in the Trust
Act as a clinical and educational expert, leading in clinical training, education and induction programmes for nursing, midwifery and AHP colleagues across the Trust.
Work in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure the learning environment for all nursing staff, midwives, AHP, students, international recruited Nursing workforce is appropriate, placement capacity is reviewed and overseen, and supervision and assessment of all learners is appropriate
To support the development and implementation of the Clinical supervision and incorporation of Professional Nursing Advocate (PNAs) and Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMAs) into the Clinical Supervision model.
Support the Chief Nursing Officer with the delivery of the wider corporate Nursing and the Trust Patient first agenda.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Registered Nurse, Midwife and/or AHP
First Level degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree or working towards and able to demonstrate equivalent experience related to Health, Leadership and management
Knowledge
Essential criteria
Understanding of Education issues/ Operational/NHS issues
Understanding of nurse productivity recommendations and any other directives related to Nursing and Midwifery Education
Ability to manage complexity and unpredictability and to make clear decisive decisions when required
Experience
Essential criteria
Proven Nursing/Midwifery leadership/management experience relevant to this post
Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to lead, motivate, enthuse and involve individuals and teams
Demonstrates an understanding of the use of quantitative and qualitative data to inform delivery planning and in monitoring performance and maintaining quality standards
Experience of implementing Nursing and Midwifery quality assurance metrics
Evidence of robust financial and other resource management
Experience of leading and implementing change
Skills
Essential criteria
Excellent presentation skills in both verbal and written form
Broad understanding of Workforce and Education issues
Committed to the positive leadership and development of Nursing and Midwifery professionals

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
