Head of Building Structures

Our client is currently looking for a Head of Building Structures based in Grangemouth. 

The ideal person will come from a Building Structures background who can join a well established small team of 2No IStructE chartered engineers and 2No graduates in delivering predominantly buildings projects.

To be successful you must be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with either ICE or IStructE.

The buildings our client designs are often industrial in nature and usually have a complexity in their design. These may be blast, fire, toxic gas tight and/or seismic

Due to the nature of the work and the background within the team the successful candidate must be able to manage the delivery process of a building. Along with this you will be willing to lead alternative technical projects such as: temporary works, bridge assessment / design, demolition pre-weakening, foundations, etc.. Technical support would be provided where out with competence area

In this position the role will take on line management duties, so the ideal candidate will ideally have experience of managing people.

This is a client facing position so relationship building and business development will be key. Working with both internal and external stakeholders you would also be able to manage and coordinate suppliers. We typically appoint 3rd party architects and MEP consultants (we have established partnerships) to supplement our multidisciplinary service offering. The candidate would be responsible for the management and coordination of these suppliers.
