Head of Applications and Development

As Head of Applications and Development you will be the driving force behind the implementation and maintenance of innovative digital tools, technologies and solutions which are to be delivered and maintained to support the organisation's strategic imperatives.Applicants must have, and be able to demonstrate:
A proven track record of leading the delivery of enterprise-class application services. A strong understanding of the full life cycle of software development and implementation - Including Azure DevOps/similar technologies. PowerPlatform and associated modern tooling. Integration practices and disciplines. Data modelling and architecture concepts and practices.
Main duties of the jobThe primary objective of this post is to support the formulation of future application and development strategy in order to guide the Trust through transformation and optimisation initiatives. This will include helping the organisation achieve targeted outcomes related to growing revenue, optimising costs and mitigating risks. Proven track record of leading the delivery of enterprise-class application services in a complex organisation to support the organisation's strategic imperatives Proven track record of leading the delivery of enterprise-class application services in a complex organisation to support the organisation's strategic imperatives A strong understanding of the full life cycle of software development gained from previous employment in a software development environment or major software implementation project Some experience in an agile development methodology such as Scrum or DSDM Experience of inspiring, leading, managing, motivating and developing a technical development team Significant relevant experience within a Digital environment with a high degree of complexity acquired through training and experience over extended period Experience of managing a variety of senior stakeholders with conflicting agendas Experience of conducting negotiations relating to highly complex matters both internal and external to the organisation Developing and using PowerPlatform and PowerApps An understanding and knowledge of the workings of the NHS, the challenges it faces and of the reform agenda. Educated to a minimum of Master's degree level, or equivalent post graduate qualification or equivalent level of experience within a senior Digital role Degree level or equivalent qualification specifically in discipline(s) related to role Evidence of management development through Continuous Professional Development and/or formal management course Highly developed specialist knowledge, acquired through a combination of in-depth experience and post-graduate/post-registration study obtained through a master's degree, equivalent experience or significant formal training or research.
