Head of Alternative Provision and Section 19Salary: £73,755Location: Northallerton / HybridNorth Yorkshire Council have a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for an ambitious and high performing Head of Alternative Provision and Section 19 to join our inclusion service, providing strategic management and performance in the area of SEND and Inclusion across the county, working collaboratively with partner organisations to implement change and transformation to ensure high quality practice, budget accountability and high outcomes for children and young people.Our vision is to ensure children and young people aged 0-25 years that require support are identified at the earliest stage and receive the right support to maximise their potential and achievements. You will ensure high quality care is provided to ensure this is aspirational for children and young people with SEND and that lived experiences inform service development on an ongoing basis.As the new Head of Alternative Provision, you will use your extensive knowledge of the SEN code of practice and local authority statutory responsibilities to deliver strategic management and performance in the area of SEND and Inclusion across North Yorkshire County, ensuring effective delivery of strategic plans across SEND and Inclusion for Attendance, AP, EOTAS, SEMH, and Physical, Sensory, Medical needs.Within the role you will be working across services leading and implementing change and transformation whilst aiming for high outcomes for children and young people.You will work closely with our children and young people and their parents/ carers ensuring their voices are heard in the participation of decision making at individual and strategic levels ensuing opportunities and co-production is maximised at all times.We are looking for someone who has the passion for ensuring children and young people with special educational needs and disability achieve their potential and aspirations into adulthood.Together with your understanding of the national framework within schools , you will have extensive knowledge of current national developments in terms of SEND and wider educational issues which will impact North Yorkshire as a Local AuthorityYou will have significant experience of collaborative and partnership working across a wide range of settings including education settings, health, local authority, parents/carers, children and young people. Your highly credible track record and effective relationships will inspire our partners to develop agile and effective solutions.This position offers a unique leadership role that will allow you to continue to develop and transform services by keeping up to date with research and development in the field of SEN and inclusion, this will enable you to implement this across the service ensuring North Yorkshire is a highly acclaimed local authority, both regionally and nationally, for the work we do.Close date: 28th April 2024
