Head of Academy Goalkeeping

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Goalkeeping development programme across the different phases, in line with the Club’s coaching and playing philosophy, with the aim of developing elite level Goalkeepers.
General Description
Plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the Academy’s GK coachingcurriculum
Monitor and provide support to U18/U21 Goalkeepers on match-days.
Effectively recruit, manage and develop casual GK coaches to ensure appropriate staffing provision is in place for the Academy’s Goalkeeping development programme.
Monitor goalkeeping coaching and promote good practice across all phases.
Ensure all Goalkeepers in the Academy have an Individual Learning Plan which is consistently delivered, reviewed and adapted, with appropriate opportunities to practice on the areas highlighted.
Work effectively with other departments to ensure the Academy operates in a multi-disciplinary environment and to ensure all Goalkeeper’s are fully prepared and have a comprehensive development programme.
Assist with administrative tasks related to the role, including general organisation, recording of sessions, player reviews, learning objectives and weekly reflections through football related software and systems.
In conjunction with the Senior Professional and Professional Development Phase Managers/Head of Coaching, c
onduct performance reviews with Goalkeepers, using a multi-disciplinary approach which meets EPPP criteria.
In conjunction with the Head of Coaching, conduct an annual review of the GK coaching programme.

ontribute to the scouting and recruitment process where appropriate.

ttend and contribute to meetings as directed by the Head of Coaching/Academy Manager
To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
To adhere to all SWFC policies and procedures
Adherence to safeguarding practices and reporting procedures to the Academy Safeguarding lead.
To contribute to a culture where everyone is respected, valued and treated fairly.
Any other
reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Coaching/Academy Manager

Qualifications
UEFA B
UEFA B Goalkeeping
FA Advanced Youth Award (desirable)
FA Safeguarding Children
FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
Skills & Experience
A high level of football knowledge with a specific understanding of developing Goalkeepers to an elite level.
An understanding of how to create an elite performance environment.
Previous Goalkeeping coaching experience at Academy level (desirable)
Knowledge of working in an Academy structure and EPPP rules and regulations
Previous playing experience at professional level (desirable)
Able to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proactive attitude within the role
Highly organised and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Demonstrates enthusiasm and is personally committed to achieving objectives.
Committed to the development of self and others and is receptive to feedback about own strengths and areas for improvement.
IT literate with a knowledge of football related software and systems
