Aramark UK is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated
Head Chef
to join the team at Northwood Barracks, Northwood HA6 3HP. This is an exciting, permanent and full time opportunity reporting into our General Manager on site. Managing a team of c10 chefs and kitchen staff, you will assume responsibility for the production of breakfast, lunch and dinner for the officers mess. You will also lead on all food production and service for our major events at the Barracks.

Please note this role requires full security clearance.

A day in the life of a Head Chef:
Management of a large kitchen with a team of Chefs and Assistants
Ensure tasks are appropriately allocated so teams are fully utilised and food preparation activities are delivered using standard recipes and in line with Aramark brand standards
Responsible for ensuring efficient execution and delivery of all food line products in line with the daily menu
Maintain integrity of the standard Aramark food offer, responsible for maintaining food quality and integrity of items at all times
Accountable for stock flow and rotation of product within the unit
Overall accountability for the performance of the Food Preparation team, including performance monitoring, record keeping, recruitment and development.
Lead the team to use best practice Food Production techniques using the Aramark systems and brand standards.
Handle customer complaints as required
Maintain communication with all team members and third parties as required e.g. client contacts
Direct and coach team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks, ensuring all training and development needs are met
Ensure complete compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation
You'll be set up for success if you have:
Experience operating at a Head Chef level
Contract catering or B&I background would be highly advantageous
An appreciation and understanding of the military
Previous experience managing and leading a team
A passion for people and food
Relevant food qualification
