Head Chef Ideal Profile:
Committed and diligent leader with a focus on inspiring and motivating the kitchen team to achieve top-tier standards consistently
Polite and possesses superior communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and collaborate with other departments
Proficient in comprehensive food management, including menu planning, costing, ordering, and ensuring the highest quality culinary experience for guests
Skilled in food preparation and service, with a keen eye for detail to maintain the highest standards of presentation and taste
Able to train and develop a team, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel
Knowledgeable about food hygiene regulations and adept at managing budgetary constraints within kitchen operations
Head Chef Responsibilities:
Plan, budget, and execute menus that align with the hotel's culinary requirements and standards, ensuring a diverse and appealing range of offerings
Manage staff rotas efficiently, ensuring optimal staffing levels within budgeted payroll costs, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for kitchen staff
Achieve food cost of sales budget through strategic planning, portion control, and effective inventory management, minimizing wastage and maximizing profitability
Oversee food and non-food items ordering, control inventory levels, ensure product quality and freshness, and minimize wastage through proper storage and handling
Collaborate with the Front of House team to educate them about the menu offerings, ensure seamless communication between kitchen and service staff, and continually improve the overall dining experience for guests
Maintain high hygiene standards in all food preparation areas, conduct regular inspections, report maintenance or safety issues promptly, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations at all times
