Location: Harlow Raytheon UK is looking for an experienced and high performing Engineer to join a successful Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area, creating Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market. The role will be based at Raytheon's Harlow facility (with weekly hybrid split working available) and the successful candidate will report directly to the APNT Digital Hardware Engineering Lead.The Electronics Design Engineer (we will consider applications from candidates with few years of experience to early Senior level) will be able make their mark on a broad and varied range of product designs and will be expected to assist in the integration of these designs into products, being the focal point for the complete system.Main Duties:The successful applicant will support the APNT Team across various programmes (both internally and Customer funded) and will involve the following main duties:Schematic generation, PCB design, component selection, evaluation and verificationWork alongside our system engineers on architectures of electronic subsystemsDevelop requirements to ensure compliance to the relevant standards.Work alongside our embedded software engineers and mechanical engineersGenerate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.Candidate Requirements:Essential:Experience with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systemsExperience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies.Experience taking prototypes and turning them into production hardware.Experience designing PCBs in conformance with defence engineering standards/airborne standardsExperience in designing for manufactureAble to present technical information clearly and concisely to othersDemonstrable analytical and problem solving skillsAn openness to learn and try new techniquesAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environment - working independently or with others to overcome obstaclesCapable of analysing and reporting on technical dataEligible or holder of current SC security clearanceDesirable:Experience of working with the Xilinx chip familyFamiliarity with the application of a systems engineering approach across the design and development life cycleExperience using the Mentor Xpedition PCB design tool and SPICEExperience creating DO254 compliant electronic systemsAPNT systems domain knowledge and/or experience in a similar fieldUnderstanding of environmental requirements (shock, vibration, EMC, etc.), experience applying these requirements to a design and experience testing for these requirementsAbout Raytheon UKWith facilities in Broughton, Waddington, Glenrothes, Harlow, Gloucester and Manchester along with a presence across other customer sites, Raytheon UK is invested in the British workforce and the development of UK technology.
