Job Description
Wood Digital Consulting (DC) are looking for a Hardware Engineer within their System Integration (SI) business to join their team in Northampton, with the option of hybrid working. Looking for experience in the automation industry, providing complete controls electrical design as part of large automated system for many diverse industries. This includes Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Logistics and other general industries.

Executes Controls deliverable requirements including the electrical design of Electrical equipment including schematics, component selection and cabinet layouts
Provides support to electrical assembly personnel at Northampton factory during build phases of equipment
Provides technical expertise and guidance to support the project delivery team during system design, implementation, and testing
Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design documentation and documents and material and equipment specifications
Responsibilities
Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards.
Areas of specialty (Hardware related):
Selection of Electrical Switchgear and Cables
Design of Control Panels using E-PLAN
Selection, configuration of Hardware components of programmable controllers
Listing input & output of PLC system
Design & Detailing of Electrical Field Device
PLC system network configuration
Layout indicating the location of Electrical Field Devices and Cable layouts.
Preparation of Cable Schedule and cable routing
Releasing BOM for purchasing
Prepare design Change notes and "As Built" Drawings
Qualifications
Practical experience of electrical builds and use of diagnostic tools
Electrical Machine Design for build and procurement
Electrical Machine/Control Panel Design with reference to risk assessment and applicable safety standards
Strong verbal and precise written communication skills to engage with internal and external contacts, effectively gather information and express instructions clearly
ePLAN electrical drawing package experience
HND or degree in Electrical/Electronic Design Engineering or Design Engineering
