Job Title: Cyber Security Hardware Engineer

About Us: Our client is a leading defence consultancy specializing in advanced technological solutions for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and other government agencies.

Position Overview: Our client is seeking a talented Cyber Security Hardware Engineer to join our team and contribute to low technological-readiness projects for the MoD. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining hardware security solutions to safeguard vital defence systems against cyber threats.

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop secure hardware components and systems for defense applications.
  • Conduct thorough threat analysis and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Design and implement cryptographic algorithms and protocols to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
  • Evaluate and integrate security features into hardware designs, including secure boot mechanisms, access controls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform security testing and validation of hardware components to ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on cybersecurity best practices to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging threats and technologies in the cybersecurity field and propose innovative solutions to address evolving challenges.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding of hardware and related security principles
  • Familiarity with security standards and protocols
  • Cross-disciplinary understanding of complex systems and the interplay between HW, SW and embedded layers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
