Health and Safety Officer - F1 NorthamptonCompetitive motorsport is dangerous. Most people think it's just the driver's risking life and limb, but the reality is that the rest of the team face far more danger everyday - highly explosive fuel, flammable lithium batteries, radioactive substances, HV electricity, aggressive chemicals, high pressures and temperatures, cobots, dangerous machinery.This is an outstanding opportunity for an H&S/health and safety officer to join a small team on a long-term contract (initially Oct 25). We are not looking for an H&S consultant, rather, an everyday person looking to develop their skills within a remarkable organisationWhat you will doOur organisation is as much about people as it is engineering. As such we are seeking an H&S officer who is there to facilitate people's needs safely, rather than prohibit activity.
* Risk assessment completion for new processes or novel procedures
* Routine H&S assessments eg noise, lifting.
* Waste permits and discharges.
* Compile and use accident data and near misses to promote safe working.
* Ensure safety of onsite contractors from 3rd parties
* Mentor two bright graduate trainees.
* Worker training workshopsWhat you will need
* Experience is more important than qualification however you may have attained nebosh or iema certification.
* You will have worked in a manufacturing, industrial, waste or more hazardous environment rather than say retail.
* Experience of the following useful - puwer, ce marking, machine directive, coshh, dsear/atex, radiation safety, noise
* Demonstrate an ability to build rapport with people and act as business partner NOT policeman.
* Ability to do WORDLE very useful.
* Must be eligible to work in UK without sponsorshipWhat you will get
