Gleeson Land specialises in land promotion, securing attractive residential planning consents on land mainly in the South of England, which ultimately helps to provide new homes in areas where housing need is high.Due to continued rapid growth across the business, a fantastic opportunity for a Group Tax Manager has arisen. This role reports to the Group Financial Controller as part of a highly skilled and professional Finance team. This key role will be responsible for the management of Group taxes and the tax control environment.Role ResponsibilityDeveloping and maintaining tax accounting procedures and controls for the GroupWorking with external tax advisers to ensure the Group is tax compliant in all areasProject lead working with external tax advisers on areas such as:o VAT / CIS / Payroll taxes health checkso Land remediation relief claimso Corporation tax for accounts and returnsReviewing and submitting CIS and VAT returnsMaintaining up-to-date SAO certification and tax strategyEnsuring best practice tax reporting and disclosuresMain point of contact for tax queries across the GroupDeveloping and delivering tax training to the business and maintaining tax awarenessAd hoc projects / analysis as requiredThe Ideal CandidateKey Skills:Strong communication skills – ability to communicate tax information in a meaningful way to a range of stakeholdersSelf-motivated to help drive the tax agenda for the Group, take ownership for the tax work and manage own workload to hit deadlinesProject management skills – lead tax projects, including coordination with other departments outside FinanceAttention to detail and quality – drive a high-quality culture at all times as part of a of a highly motivated, professional finance teamCandidate Profile:Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CTA)3-5 years of tax experienceSuit either a first-time mover from practice into industry, or someone with industry experience in a tax settingKnowledge of VAT would be helpfulPackage DescriptionGenerous holiday entitlement of 26 days per annum + bank holidays
