Group Planner Manager

We have an award-winning reputation, industry leading safety culture and have had the privilege to be a part of some of the most critical infrastructure projects taking place today.We are currently recruiting for a Senior Planner to join our team based in Orsett in Essex with a remit to support projects nationally.As the Senior Planner, you will be theplanning & programming specialist in the organisation, owning the production and development of programmes for all projects across the JGL business, ensuring continued update and development of live programmes to meet client requirements, ensuring contractual compliance and to highlight business risk and identify opportunities for mitigation.Specifically, you will Ensure an in depth knowledge of contracts at both tender and in delivery stages to ensure an understanding of contract programming requirements for all NEC and JCT contracts.
Produce and maintain robust tender and contract programmes to highlight and evidence risks and opportunity in changes to programme. Plans must meet the necessary standard of quality to meet client requirements.
Act as the specialist in the organisation in the utilisation of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Asta.
Lead on planning and programme thinking across the organisation, demonstrating and embeddingbest practice.
Undertake weekly reviews with Contracts Directors, Contracts Managers and Project Managers to ensure plans are fully up to date, capturing critical path activities and identifying programme risk and mitigation strategies, including slippage in programme, compensation events, contract variations etc, ensuring appropriate information is captured to facilitate associated claims.
Provide KPI’s, Variance and other reports for the business and clients as required.
Build a Programme library for future works and tenders
Report on tender vs. final contract programme to inform the pre-construction strategy
Support ad-hoc requests, as directed by the Contracts Director and/or Pre-Construction Director.
This role will require travel to project sites across the country To be successful in this position the Senior Plannermust: Be an expert in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and ASTA
Have experience of working in the Construction or Civil Engineering Industry
Possess an depth understanding of NRC and JCT contract forms and associated claims processes.
Have strong time management, organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work independently, under pressure and to deadlines.
Have strong attention to detail
Be a strong and confident communicator with ability to proactively build effective relationships at all levels across the business Role model for the Joseph Gallagher group’s behaviours to embed safety culture
