In this newly created Group Learning & Development Lead role, you can truly make a difference to our organisation. The Learning & Development Lead will be responsible for the design of Learning solutions across the group. You will deploy existing content, whilst working with wider business stakeholders to understand current and future business requirements. This is a critical role and one which will establish best practice learning and development solutions to help evolve and embed a Learning culture. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in an organisation where they can create real impact in a fast-moving and transformational business.The successful incumbent will bring with them prior experience in building a first-class “Academy” learning approach. You will partner with the HR Leads and Centers of Expertise to deliver wider strategic learning initiatives and priorities.Key accountabilitiesOverall responsibilities include:Partners with HRBP’s, HRD’s and Centres of Expertise (CoE) teams and business clients at global and local level to develop a learning and development strategy that aligns to our People First culturePartners with the HRBP’s to design an appropriate mechanism to support learning delivery that adds demonstrable value whilst delivering a seamless service to clients across the Howden Group i.e. building delivery capability/resource internally that is embedded in, or aligned to business divisions or partnering with external suppliersIdentifies where there is a need to partner with external suppliers and works to source appropriate solutions and maintain a fit for purpose supplier framework to ensure performanceAccountable for the development of suitable learning delivery channels and platforms including Workday Learning, Linkedin Learning etc.Builds a Learning & Development team, aligned the HR Operating Model to ensure a high-performing, client-centric and delivery-focused cultureActs as lead on specific, high profile L&D initiatives as well as overseeing delivery of a broad portfolio of productsMaintains and internal and external focus, horizon scanning and networking to explore and identify the most effective and innovative learning and delivery initiatives and projects to ensure that Howden is seen as a sector-leader in respect of career and professional developmentAccountable for evaluation of learning and development activitiesDirect responsibility for a central learning and development budget and input into wider organisational spend and requirements at Group levelResponsible for developing their own, and their team’s, knowledge of the business environment to ensure an understanding of the wider context and ensure commercially viable productsPerson specification / experienceAn experienced learning professional, self-starter with significant experience in a senior learning and development roleAble to establish professional capability quickly whilst ensuring an open and consultative mindset. This is an opportunity for someone to make a mark in a culture that prides itself on being unique – it will be important that the Learning Lead is able to deliver a customised, fit for purpose series of solutionsSuccessful track record in building and establishing a learning service offering and designing the infrastructure (platforms, suppliers, SLA’s) to support thisDemonstrable experience of successfully diagnosing, developing and implementing commercially-focused learning and development plans across complex organisations.
