Group Health and Safety Manager - Critical Engineering
History behind the role:
Due to our client's aggressive growth plans, it is essential that we have a Health & Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the tried and tested experience needed to help create the H&S foundations for the Group to build their operational growth plan on. This will be a Group-wide strategy, so the successful candidate will have performed similar roles within a pan-European / Global environment.
The Role:
The Group Health & Safety Manager will assess the group's existing Health and Safety process (currently being managed locally) within construction and operations, provide solutions that will improve efficiency and successfully prepare them for the growth plans, and you will then be responsible for implementing these solutions on a global level. This position holds a large amount of autonomy and will give you the opportunity to take full ownership of the evolving of a well-established organization's health and safety function.
Act as a key driver of the Construction Safety Leadership Program – Discussing, creating and introducing governance around construction safety within the Group
Adopt a risk-based approach; providing project stakeholders with a deep insight into the potential H&S risks and educating them on prevention methods
Monitor constructions through their lifecycle; introducing periodic assurance audits (and schedules), quality monitoring methods and H&S balance scorecard
Partner with internal teams (Legal, Sales, PMO, etc) to ensure they are up to date and understand the Group’s H&S standards, allowing them to successfully draw up and negotiate contracts
Have a deep understanding and keep up to date on regulatory requirements and emerging trends, continuously maintaining the Group’s health and safety compliance
Introduce new incidents monitoring techniques, analyze the data to identify potential patterns and introduce improvement plans
Ensure quality control standards are introduced and adhered to
Candidates should have:
Recognized safety and environmental qualifications, worked within a critical engineering environment, ideally IMEA Member, diploma in NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety. It would be very beneficial if the successful candidate holds an Auditor’s qualification for ISOx and SOC compliance, though this is not essential.
