Our client is a leading edge, Private Equity backed SaaS business with a proven , scalable platform. They are poised for significant international growth both organically and by a series of planned acquisitions. The newly appointed CFO has an outstanding track record in growth, Tech companies with significant exit and Private Equity experience. He is looking to appoint a progressive Group Head of FP&A . The organisation has excellent systems and alongside these there is a need to further develop FP&A reporting and planning, with a strong focus on Sales support, in particular robust demand planning and tracking of lead generation.
This role provides a truly outstanding opportunity for a finance professional looking to progress their career towards CFO, as the role will support strategic decision making and driving the review cycle across the group. Whilst the finance function is based in Sheffield, the business has a truly agile approach and thus the new role can be based in any location across the UK provided that there is a commitment to maintaining a presence across the business and travel a few times a month. The leadership team often work/meet in London and the new role will work closely with London based investors also.
Responsibilities include:
Budgeting, forecasting and planning.
Develop and manage an integrated forecasting and business planning process comprising a reforecasting process and longer-term business plans, working closely with the legal team and Salesforce to accurately forecast
Ensure that NetSuite functionality is optimized to enable analysis and reporting across different geographies and that future acquisitions can be integrated and onboarded faster
Production of information required by investors, as part of their portfolio reporting obligations
Working with Sales Director and their teams to fully utilise Salesforce and ensure focus on demand planning, lead generation and support the revenue growth, it is envisaged that you will recruit and train and Head of Revenue Operations to focus within this niche area
Introduce reporting and analysis to compliment lead generation by product and channel, with costing around new business acquisitions
Further design and develop Cash Flow forecasts, understanding the working cash management position
Support the CFO regarding commercial and strategic direction, ensuring reporting reflects key objectives, in particular profit and revenue growth
Provide insights from qualitative and quantitative data analysis developing business models and cases to support strategic choices and optimal resource allocation
Work collaboratively across the business applying rigorous and challenging business and strategic thinking
Take the lead in driving robust processes around cost control, cash flow projections, and broader balance sheet management to maximize profit and cash generation opportunities
Work closely with the Group Controller to deliver timely, accurate, and incisive financial reports for internal and external distribution
Ad hoc projects as required, e.g., due diligence, post-acquisition integration, systems projects, geographic market development.
Key requirements for the role:
You will have a graduate level education and a professional accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
Down to earth, approachable, highly collaborative working style and positive outlook.
Preferably experience gained in a Technology / SaaS company where finance is key to decision making
Will have worked in a fast moving and sales/customer focussed organisation and possess a proven track record of working closely with sales and commercial functions to deliver inciteful financial planning and analysis
Ideally experience of demand planning and generation with knowledge of Salesforce – including tracking pipeline, lead generation and provision of support to the sales team
Exposure to M&A with a real interest in value creation Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capability, but equally enthused by a ‘hands-on’ role and relishes translating strategy into practical deliverables
Engaging and confident, able to build and maintain relationships with C-suite and department heads.
