Group Financial Controller

The Group Financial Controller will implement and lead exemplary financial accounting, compliance, and reporting processes. The role will develop and manage the finance resources, plan and optimise group cash flows and intra group trading, and introduce robust financial controls.Your key focus will be: Oversea and drive the continuous improvement the group finance function, where you will manage, develop and coach the finance team. Manage and improve
the groups financial systems, processes whilst adherence to policies and procedures
Lead all aspects of the groups financial accounting in accordance with the groups policies:
Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts and structure to enable optimal performance reporting. Whilst developing a user friendly finance playbook and enforce the UKs internal control environment. Manage revenue recognition, capital expenditure and fixed asset accounting: Control intercompany transactions as well as defining, managing standard, efficient and time month-end and year-end processes.
Group Reporting
Ensuring adherence to all financial reporting deadlines across the group as well as consolidate group resulting including accounting for JV’s and Investments.
Prepare, validate and review month-to-date and year-to-date results versus plan and prior year in readiness for performance reporting and analysis.
Reconciliation between local and group reporting, authorisation for all sales and purchase invoices, review aging of receivable and approval on employee expense claims.
Manage the groups statutory reporting requirements and audit procedures as well as conducting intercompany audit and compliance procedures.
Develop and operate effective transfer pricing and intercompany funding arrangments.
Manage the integration of acquered business, ensureing all controls, reporting, processes and systems are harmonised acrss the grou.
Manage group tax compliance in conjunction with external advisers (payroll taxes, sales taxes, corporation/income taxes, withholding taxes), oversee claims for rebates and reliefs.
Implement and oversee the efficient management of group working capital (Accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventories) Provide support to outsourced providers in the US to ensure consistency and continuous improvement of financial reporting systems and processes.
Cash management:
Control group banking arrangements, transactions and foreign exchange;
Prepare cash flow forecasts and plan forward currency and exchange needs;
Manage investments. Manage group tax compliance in conjunction with external advisers (payroll taxes, sales taxes, corporation/income taxes, withholding taxes), oversee claims for rebates and reliefs.
Work collectively with the Head of FP&A, Project Financial Controller and the CFO.
Is this the job for me?To be successful in this role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience: Experience as Group Financial Controller or similar role for a international group, ideally if its within Chemical, Manufacturing or Research.
Qualified Financial Accountant with strong technical knowledge – ACA, ACCA, or CIMI Qualification preferred. Broad experience in accounting for large complex engineering projects (revenue recognition, appropriate matching, profitability).
Knowledge of oil & gas, steel, cement and/or chemicals is highly desirable.
Experience of work in/with a high growth organisation growing over 200% per year.
Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
Deep understanding of core financial metrics and KPIs.
Well-versed in the development and maintenance of strong internal control environments.
