The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced finance leader with real passion for delivering high quality accounting and financial reporting. The role will support the delivery of internal and external reporting, with specific focus on the successful completion of audit and statutory accounts sign-off. The role will also focus on enhancing governance and control within accounting processes to minimise risk, improve efficiency and drive business performance.
What exactly will you do?
Responsible for leading external audits and acting as the first point of contact throughout the process.
Responsible for ensuring that management accounting and statutory reporting deadlines are adhered to.
Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems to support ISO accreditations.
Support the development and improvement of policies, processes and financial controls, ensuring they are well designed and operate effectively.
Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practice in the Record to Report process area.
Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and training as needed.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the finance team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial accountability throughout the organisation.
Ensure team objectives and desired performance levels are achieved.
Handling VAT, PAYE and Tax duties, including corporation tax.
What we’re looking for
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA or ACA/ACCA)
Proven experience in a Finance Manager position or equivalent
Exceptional staff management background
Proficient user of finance software
Experience overseeing an end-to-end annual audit proceed
Experience in the production of the annual statement of accounts
Sound knowledge of company taxation principles
Leadership of finance projects delivering efficiency savings and ensuring projects are delivered to timeliness and cost
Structured and organised, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities.
Able to build strong working relationships and influence people.
Strong technical accounting and analytical skills
Proven experience of delivering to tight monthly reporting deadlines
Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
Self-starter with a willingness and enthusiasm for pro-actively identifying issues and ability to follow-through projects & activities with minimal supervision.
Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
