Key Responsibilities of a Group Finance Director:
Manage cashflow to ensure groupwide financial resilience.
Direct and control finance staff with authority to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed and so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
Contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives by providing analysis, models, advice and guidance on business financial matters.
Develop and control the company's annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
To complete a rolling 12-week cashflow forecast and, beyond that, a 12-week cash planning model each week.
Provide financial advice and guidance, including budget performance and return on investment calculations, to the company's managers and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
Oversee the preparation of the company's management accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
Provide Group level consolidated management accounts at agreed intervals.
Develop and implement internal audit programmes to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations.
Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company.
Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company.
Contribute to external customer policies such as tender documents, customer discounts and rebates to ensure margin is not eroded.
Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and legal obligations.
Skills and Qualifications required of a Group Finance Director:
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is essential. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
