Group Commercial Manager



Jackson Hogg is looking to recruit a Group Commercial Manager for a growing organisation based in Prudhoe



Group Commercial Manager Role and Responsibilities



Reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive, you will be responsible for the commercial aspects of the business, of which a few are highlighted below. You will need to be energetic, articulate, proactive, a great leader, a motivator, a great communicator, visionary, able to work on your own and as part of a team. You will need to achieve deadlines and meet objectives, some of which will be a challenge. Ideally you will have a background in either finance, business management, marketing / sales, or general management, at an appropriate level.



Ideally you are or have been, working in the construction sector or sub-contracting to the construction sector within new build developments however this is not mandatory




  • Develop, plan, and implement commercial plans and strategies

  • Always strive to accelerate and encourage company's growth and success

  • Perform market research and analyse threats and opportunities

  • Implement new customer acquisition strategies

  • Manage existing client relationships

  • Collaborate with, coordinate, and train diverse teams such as marketing, sales, and customer service

  • Establish and manage long-term relationship with stakeholders

  • Understand the requirements of existing customers

  • Track, measure, and analyse commercial metrics using KPIs

  • Manage and track expenditures, financial goals, and budgets

  • Drive and focus on all commercial activities of the business

  • Review and challenge margins

  • Maintain individual pricing matrix issued to clients

  • Review supplier pricing and negotiate enhanced deals

  • Review cost saving initiatives



Manage client relationships and business development




  • Hold regular meetings with our current clients, reviewing performance, quality, and turnover

  • Review all tenders before they are submitted

  • Work with business development team to drive new opportunities

  • Oversee all internal and external communications to ensure they meet our corporate image

  • Collate management reporting tools

  • Report on supplier performance o Report on client performance

  • Report on fitter performance



Management of warehouse and distribution and Direct management of warehouse manager and his team




  • Review stock turnover

  • Review returns

  • Review damage / wastage

  • Review overall performance



Legal and general items




  • Manage facilities and suppliers, Manage waste, Manage vehicles

  • Review legal documentation before signing by CEO



Work with senior management teams across the business




  • Chair management meetings, Collate data and report, Motivate managers to be leaders
