Group Accountant

Overall purpose of role

Reporting to the Group Finance director, the Group Accountant is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, including but not limited to, month end management accounts, budgets, and cash forecasts.

Working with the local controllers towards production of month end management accounts including producing year-end statutory accounts, and managing the audit.

The group accountant will also be responsible producing commercial reports, KPI’s etc for the group.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accounting and Support

Responsible for manging the financial accounting, covering

• Management of Financial and General accounting for operations, including any new system upgrades and implementations.
• Coordination and consolidation of the group's weekly P&L forecast.
• Coordination and consolidation of the group’s weekly cash forecast.
• Producing and developing group reporting using ODBC connection to ERP system database.
• Producing company commercial reports
• Producing profitability analysis
• Key liaison of the Group Auditors and taxation matters
• Key liaison for R&D tax credits
• Support the Group FD in producing analysis and 5 year forecast for the banks and financial institutions

Business partnership Support

• Provide commercial insight and analysis to support operational decision making.

•     Support with performance reporting including budgeting, forecasting, monthly business reviews

• Effectively communicate the business's financial performance & participate in discussions surrounding risks & opportunities
• Ownership of financial control and governance processes including contractual compliance

•     Support with applicable audit requests in conjunction with the UK Finance Lead

The Group Accountant will lead the monthly closing and preparation of monthly management accounts including

• Review and Issue flash results
• Review and Issue MIS pack in line with group timetable
• Provision of monthly finance Commentary.
• Presenting results to Group Finance Director

PERSON SPECIFICATION

An enthusiastic finance professional with experience in ERP (preferably Mfg Pro / QAD) across multi-cultural / multi- currency environment in engineering / manufacturing sector.

Education and qualifications

• Highly numeric / strong analytical skills.
• ACA qualified
• An eye for detail, focused on implementing robust controls and processes.
• Experienced in Statutory accounting and management of audits.
• Experience with SQL and ERP system databases.
• Strong commercial and business acumen advanced level spreadsheet.
