We are excited to be offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced groundworks team leader to join an established firm to work on high quality domestic and commercial construction projects throughout Cornwall.Core Duties:Coordinating daily project tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel.Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.Recruitment, implementation of training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors.Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needsEmphasising safe use of tools, machinery, equipment and PPEToolbox talks in line with relevant H&S legislation/matters.Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sitesResolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicablyRegularly reporting project status.Daily Tasks:Earthworks: topsoil strip, bulk dig, stockpile control, muck away.Foundations: excavation and constructionUtility and service installations to facilitate private and 3rd party supplier in line with regulations. (Power, telecoms, broadband/internet, water and gas.)Drainage works: Foul and storm water in private and 3rd party assets.Landscaping prep and finishes: Driveways, Fencing, hard and soft finishesConcrete and masonry works.Plant and equipment general maintenance and procedures.Required skills/qualifications:CITB SSSTSPlant experienceCAT and GennyYou will be based across a range of sites throughout Cornwall, as such a driver’s licence and own vehicle are essential.What’s in it for you?28 days holiday (INC Bank Holidays) + 1 day extra for every year of service (up to 5 years)Birthday offNEST PensionMileage to site will be paid.Training and a career progressionThis role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis, min of 40 hours per week.
