Job Title: Groundworker



Location: Maidstone 



Type: Full-time, (Temporary)



Our Client is a reputable construction company that has been delivering high-quality projects across the UK, they specialise in [e.g., residential buildings, commercial developments, infrastructure projects]. We are currently seeking skilled Groundworkers to join our team and contribute to the success of our construction operations.



The Role: Groundworkers play a crucial role in the early stages of construction. They are responsible for preparing sites, laying foundations, installing drainage and other pipework, and ensuring that the ground is prepared for major construction work to begin.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris and hazards to make them safe for work.

  • Dig trenches and pits manually or using mechanical digging equipment.

  • Lay foundations and ensure the ground is compacted and level.

  • Install drainage systems, pipes, and cables.

  • Operate and maintain tools and machinery such as compactors, concrete mixers, and drills.

  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete for foundations, roads, and other structures.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.

  • Work closely with other construction professionals such as engineers, surveyors, and site managers.



Requirements:




  • Proven experience as a Groundworker in the construction industry.

  • Knowledge of basic construction practices and techniques related to groundwork.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

  • CSCS card holder.

  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
