Job title: Graduate Teaching assistant (Primary)

Location: North Tyneside

Hours: 8:30 – 3:30pm

Salary: £83 - £110 per day

GSL is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in North Tyneside. The school are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful individuals to join a dedicated and hardworking team of specialised support staff.

Graduate Teaching Assistant


  • Provide dedicated support to teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist students with their academic, social, and emotional development, offering individual attention and guidance.
  • Taking small groups for interventions – for example Maths or Phonics
  • Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing the classroom and clearing away after class to ensure effective teaching can take place

Requirements of the role


  • Positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport.
  • You will have loads of initiative, be well organised and pro-active
  • Respect for diversity, as you'll be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, parents, teachers and governors.
  • Reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Recently qualified or about to finish Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
  • A full checkable work history 
  • Be available Monday to Friday
