Graduate Teacher Programme - French or SpanishAbout the role:You can join our 12th cohort on our ‘Outstanding’ (OFSTED, 2022) Teacher Training programme this September! Last year saw over 200 trainees join the programme and we are already looking forward to our next cohort, which you could be part of!You will be training to be a French or Spanish Teacher - this is a great opportunity to train to teach outstanding lessons and therefore help pupils achieve excellent academic results.About Ark Teacher Training:Ark Teacher Training (ATT) is a school-based programme offering the perfect mixture of theory and classroom practice to develop you into the best teacher you can be. Because we believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves to have access to a great education, we work mainly in communities of lower income with a history of academic underachievement. Alongside this, our programme is also incredibly supportive and bespoke, as you will see below.Why join Ark Teacher Training?“97% of trainees feel well supported by their tutors.” (ATT Trainee Survey, 2022)Our programme consists of:Independent and team teachingHelp co-planning your lessonsTraining once a week involving professional and subject-specific studies1:1 coaching and mentoringTime built in to work on PGCE assignments (two for the year)At the end of your training year, you’ll have achieved a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status. You can then progress onto our highly supportive Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction programme. We will help you secure your ECT role at your training school or another in the Ark network and guide you through your first few years of teaching. It is very rare for our trainees to leave the network after their training year and many progress into leadership roles within Ark.Eligibility criteria:Grade C/4 or above in Maths GCSE and English Language GCSE (or equivalent)An undergraduate bachelor’s degree or will hold (or equivalent) prior to beginning yourInitial Teacher TrainingA degree or A level in related LanguagesEvidence of a commitment to working with young peopleExperience of overcoming challenges successfullyAbility to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conductAn aptitude for teachingDiversity and Inclusion:Our programme places heavy emphasis on diversity both within recruitment of our trainees and within the training.
