Renewable Graduate Grid Engineer
We are after an ambitious individual to join our team. As the Grid Graduate, you would work
alongside our Grid Connections Engineer, reporting directly to the Senior Connections Manager and play a crucial role in supporting the grid connection process for our rapidly expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be fully engaged in all aspects of renewables project development.
You would learn about the UK grid network and support the team as they secure grid connection
agreements for utility-scale solar, wind, or storage projects. You would learn about and be involved with the feasibility studies for connection requests and collaborate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Transmission Operators (TOs) to identify the optimal connection option. As you learn and develop these activities will expand with data and power system analysis.
Key Responsibilities after two years will include
Perform grid connection studies for solar, wind, BESS or Hybrid projects.
Review/design technical drawings for submission.
Submit applications to the DNO’s and ESO.
Review, assess negotiate received Connection Offers, covering price, milestones, payment etc,
Collaborate and liaise with ICPs, IDNOs and EPCs,
Organise and keep records of updates of ongoing and potential projects.
Completing grid studies,
Working with DNOs, ESO and internal teams to progress the company's projects during development and construction,
Perform any other duties as required.

Key Qualifications & Experience
You have or intend to have by Summer 2024 an appropriate engineering degree or a
level 4 or above (HNC) in a relevant field:
Power Systems Engineering/ Electrical
Engineering
Energy Markets
– Knowledge of the electricity market in the UK, including but not
limited to interaction with grid operators (TSO and distribution companies), basic
knowledge of the UK regulatory framework and development roadmaps.
