Graduate Freight Clerk

We are now recruiting for our well-established Freight Forwarding client who offer a worldwide freight forwarding service to UK manufacturers, exporters and importers who demand a cost-effective service together with a high degree of personal attention.
Our freight forwarding Client is a multi-national freight forwarder, they now have an exciting new opportunity for a Graduate to join the Freight teams at their location in St Albans. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right graduate to join this Freight Forwarding and Logistics company that is rapidly expanding and offers excellent progression within the business.
Working alongside and being trained / mentored by a Senior Operations Coordinator and as part of the freight team. The role is primarily involved in the European Road and Sea Freight operations movements.
Duties of the role:
* Being trained to help support the Operations team in coordinating the day-to-day Sea Freight imports and European road freight shipments for clients
* Completing the necessary export and import customs clearance.
* Raising job files and all of the appropriate paperwork.
* Processing the jobs utilising the Azyra software system.
* Extensive client liaison both written (email) and verbal (telephone).
* Extensive supplier liaison and negotiation.
* Internal liaison with the sales team assisting with quotations and service status information.
* Invoicing jobs on completion.
Experience / skills required
* An academic individual with good common sense.
* Living within a short commute to St Alban
* Customer service experience with the ability to build strong relations.
* Strong organisational and administration skills.
* Good IT Skills.
* Confident, positive and engaging personality.
Salary and Benefits
* Circa �24,000 (Regular appraisals with progressive adjustments to remuneration)
