Graduate Facade Engineer Role and Responsibilities

  • Project Collaboration: Support senior staff in executing and coordinating project tasks.
  • Technical Development: Produce design calculations, assist with sketch plans, working drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Site Engagement: Assist with planning site investigation works and perform site inspections.
  • Client Interaction: Provide design advice, prepare feasibility studies, and effectively liaise with clients and other design team members.
  • Innovation and Efficiency: Contribute to the development of computer-based systems to improve efficiency and adhere to best practices within given programme and cost constraints.
  • Continuous Learning: Commit to self-development and the enhancement of your technical skills and knowledge.

What The Graduate Facade Engineer Will Bring

  • Essential:

    • A degree in civil or structural engineering.
    • Ideally, 2 years of experience or more in a relevant field.
    • Solid understanding of engineering principles.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • A proactive work approach and a commitment to continual improvement.
    • Familiarity with construction procedures.
    • Ability to produce hand calculations and sketches of structural elements.
    • Knowledge of British Standards/UK version of Eurocodes.
    • Experience in designing structures with concrete, steelwork, timber, and masonry.
    • Proficiency in computer design software.
    • Understanding of CDM regulations and designer responsibilities.
    • Capability to produce accurate and clear sketches.
    • Effective teamwork skills.
  • Preferred:

    • Knowledge of design software and its limitations.
    • Experience with AutoCAD.
