3661 Description and requirementsGraduate Civil Engineer (Design) - Development Programme 2024 - Leavesden ParkOur Skanska Technology team are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our 2024 development programme and help us shape the future of Skanska.The Skanska Technology team provide a diverse mix of professional services including civil engineering, structural engineering, infrastructure design, green consultancy, project management services, air quality consultancy, Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) consultancy and noise and vibration advisory services.The industry is modernising and so are we. A snapshot of our current projects include:civil engineering design on HS2structural engineering advice on major infrastructure projects such as the Lower Thames Crossingproviding green consultancy and carbon reduction advice for major projects in the rail and water sectorsdesigning water treatment facilities for Anglian Waterdesigning steel plants or major electrical substations for some of our external clients.Our two-year graduate programme will allow you to work with staff from other parts of Skanska to solve a range of business critical challenges, allowing you to develop your business skills in parallel with your technical skills and build a professional network to carry into your future career with Skanska. You will also join our ICE approved training scheme and will be supported and mentored in your professional development by our in house Supervising Civil Engineers.In combination, we will equip you with the technical skills, business skills, guidance, and mentor support to achieve your full potential and to become a professionally qualified Civil Engineer.Location:Our modern head office located in Leavesden Park, Hertfordshire, close to the M25. Occasional travel to various construction sites will be required.What you’ll do:Further develop your civil and structural engineering design skills in relation to elements in structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timberDevelop skills in the use of engineering and design software such as SCIA 3D, Autodesk Robot Professional, STAAD Pro, WALLAP, TEDDS, and other packages.Obtain a good working knowledge of UK standards, specifications and best practice. We will build upon the skills you have developed in your undergraduate study and develop these in the use of the Eurocode suite of Standards.
