Your new role
As a Grade 6 Legal Adviser, working alongside 20 or so others, you'll provide high-quality commercial, financial, and public law advice, with minimal supervision. Your role will be diverse; you'll support clients at all stages of transactions, manage relationships with key clients and external stakeholders, and contribute to cross-departmental projects. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritise work effectively, and a willingness to learn about unfamiliar areas of law are essential. You'll also contribute to enhancing the Legal Division’s reputation, participate in department-wide projects, and identify and deliver training needs. This role may involve additional duties according to business needs.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:
Qualified E&W solicitor
3+ PQE
Ideally trained in private practice, though in-house training will be considered
Demonstrable experience in trade finance, general banking and syndicated lending, asset finance, project finance, trade credit insurance, public procurement law/commercial contracts, along with data protection or information law
Experience in projects (renewable, oil & gas, sustainability etc.)
Must be comfortable with international travel

£76,000 base salary + performance award of approx. 9.10%
Civil Service pension of 27.9%.
