Sutton Coldfield Group Practice is on a transformation journey. Our goal is to significantly improve the service offered to our patients, to be “best in class” for G.P service provision and to be the provider of choice to the residents of Sutton Coldfield.We are now looking for an experienced, part time Governance Officer / CQC Lead to ensure that our systems and processes are maintained to meet our obligations to the CQC and to our patients. You will be an experienced governance/risk professional with experience of working within a CQC regulated environment. You will work closely with our Lead Clinician to ensure that our systems and processes are CQC ready every day.Job Role & PurposeThe objective of the Governance Lead is to lead, develop, and implement a strategic plan to ensure CQC readiness for the SCGP. Key duties & responsibilities include:CQC Readiness
Work with Managers/Team Leaders to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program, including policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure CQC ComplianceConduct regular audits to assess CQC readiness and collaborate with Managers/Team Leaders in to identify key controls, risks, and areas for improvementMaintain accurate records of CQC compliance activities, utilising TeamNetLead preparations for inspections, ensuring staff in practices across the Group receive a full brief, with accessible and up-to-date pre-inspection materials
Project and Professional Management
Project manage CQC projects and initiatives, involving clinical and administration staff across multiple practices when requiredEnsure that, where appropriate, initiatives are supported by a clinical champion and practice managementRemain up to date with changes in CQC Audit Legislation and NHS England changes specific to primary care, including tools and technology to improve compliance across practices in the PCN/Group
Communications
Prepare and present reports to Managers, GP Partners and other practice staff as requestedPromote a culture of ethics and integrity across SCGP, ensuring staff are aware of their compliance obligationsDeliver complex information in an engaging format
Education Training & Experience Required
Experience of working with clinicians and a Registered ManagerPrevious experience in health and social care settingExperience of a role in risk, governance or audit,Knowledge and understanding of CQC Regulatory Framework and Policies
Abilities and Competencies
Capacity to plan and deliver against targetsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.High levels of accuracy and detailAbility to work on own initiativeGood team player
About the rewardsWe offer an excellent working environment, NHS Pension, and a supportive culture in which to work.
