Our client is a leading, well established and respected Engineering & Manufacturing business.� Due to new procedures in the company, they have an opportunity for a goods in team leader.



This is a temporary to permanent role - permanent after 4 months on contract with a rate of �14.80 per hour.





Duties:






  • Goods in process: Receiving goods, off-loading, unpacking, sorting & verifying received goods, quality & quantity checks, distribution to storage/production areas, handling delivery notes and liaising with Purchasing to ensure that all goods are booked into stock.

  • Return process: Receiving returned goods, off-loading, unpacking, sorting & verifying returned goods, distribution to storage/production areas, working with Production Team Leaders to carry out quality checks, liaising with Production Engineers and Purchasing to ensure returned goods are booked back into stock.

  • Goods-out process: Identifying and verifying goods to be despatched, inspecting outgoing goods packaged by Production, despatching goods, loading delivery vehicles. Liaising with Production Team Leaders and Warehouse Supervisor to ensure that outgoing goods are ready for despatch in time for booked logistics deliveries, and that the entire goods-out process runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Carrying out quality & quantity checks as part of goods-in and returns process: visual inspection of pallets and containers of received goods before unpacking, counting unpacked goods against quantities on delivery notes, quality checks against spec sheets and/or drawings (e.g., dimension tolerance checks using Vernier callipers), visual inspection of unpacked goods, labelling and isolating reject goods, preparing shortage & damage reports (using delivery notes) for Purchasing.

  • Processing picking lists & ad-hoc despatch requests (excluding goods manufactured in Production). Working with Production & Warehouse to ensure timely despatch of requested goods.

  • Assisting Production Team Leaders in keeping an efficient storage layout of raw materials and finished goods.

  • Operating forklifts, pallet trucks, and other machinery to move items or directing other machine operators to move materials.

  • Taking part in Production meetings to be aware of updates and ongoing happenings at Production.





Requirements






  • Warehouse/stores experience essential

  • Experienced working within an Engineering/Manufacturing company ideal but not essential

  • Must have fork lift licence

  • Must have a driving license

  • Will be expected to manage a small team

  • Computer literacy with at least a basic user knowledge of MS Office (Excel and Word).

  • Ideally have experience with Sage 200 or other stock management / ERP software but not essential.

  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling activities.
