This role is pivotal in driving the delivery of the best strategies and plans for the Travel Retail business at Boots, ensuring this is delivered in a way that hits all the financial, customer and operational targets. Based at our Nottingham support office, with ad hoc store visits, this full-time role combines the best of commercial, marketing and insight to deliver market leading Travel Retail propositions.
This is a twelve-month contract with the potential for permanency when we demonstrate the value this productivity focus can deliver.
About the role
This is role is part of our newly formed Travel Retail commercial team, dedicated to our airport and train station business. You will report into the Senior Commercial Manager, Travel, this is a manager level role with no direct reports.
You will work alongside the wider Boots Commercial, Marketing, Digital and Insights teams to develop and deliver bespoke for our airport and train station stores, including:
· Development of an innovative in-year Key Activity Planner which drives meaning and difference for Boots.
· Responsibility to ensure the plan is grounded in insight & data
· Work with the wider Go to Market team on the translation of commercial activity into motivating, innovative and customer-led messages, themes & promotions across all channels
· Responsibility to review and respond to changes in context and lead reactive changes to the plan
· Consolidation & communication of campaign performance, market and competitor activity to influence future activity, communicated to the business
You will work with external airport and rail operators to develop and deliver targeted marketing activity to drive engagement and footfall with our stores.
What you'll need to have
· Experienced retail candidate (ideally across at least two of Commercial, Retail, Marketing and Insight)
· High-level, and experience, of commercial acumen
· Experience with delivery to targets, through the creation of owned plans and strategies
· Ability to see multiple perspectives (commercial, customer, brand and operational) to achieve the right blended plan and outcome
It would be great if you also have
· Experience working in high-volume retail e.g. grocery or Travel retail.
· Experience with Blue Yonder space and floor planning software would be helpful for a fast start in this role.
