Impeccably crafted, from carefully sourced sustainable fabrics, one tailor - per garment - stitches each piece from start to finish in a safe and ethical working environment.Reporting to the Global Production and Operations Director, we are looking for a Global Raw Materials Manager to join us in our North London Atelier. Responsible for purchasing all raw materials for seasonal wholesale production and direct to consumer ongoing production. This includes fabrics, trims and embroideries. Managing and monitoring stock levels of all raw materials in all ateliers. Develop and build relationships with key suppliers to get the best out of all our partners. The candidate will need to be both hands on in placing and chasing orders and forward thinking to ensure all raw materials arrive for production to start on time. Responsibilities:Keeping an overall oversight of all stock movements and proactive, intuitive stock management for ateliers globally.Take ownership in closing wholesale books and working on predicted ecommerce sales according to the programming of the drop calendar to forecast private consumption requirements. Use both the pre-emptive drop calendar planning assumptions for private consumption as well as the stock software low stock alert system to make sure stock purchases are made with foresight.Initiate fabric and embroidery handovers with product development team to set critical path of when to place orders for wholesale seasons to ensure on time deliveries.Make smart and nimble decisions based on supplier delivery windows and meterage discounts or surcharges. Negotiate deliveries and prices when applicable.Support to refine the system to fit our needs with regards to pre-ordering fabrics ahead of market, topping up as necessary and allocating in the best way possible across all ateliers and channels (Wholesale, D2C, and development). Place greige commitments across key fabrics.Ensure that each atelier has accurate stock records at all times and that the atelier has the correct stock alert system in place to initiate timely reorders.Determine when transfer of stock between ateliers is necessary and and oversee the process to correctly reflect any movements in the stock management system. Liaise with global finance so movements are correctly reflected in accounts and intercompany logistics and invoicing are made aware of any stock transfer shipments so intercompany invoicing can take place accurately.Refine the system for PO tracking and visibility of key information. Maintain master file with key touchpoints and information: PO raised, potential deposit payment, order confirmation received from supplier, tentative date of order completion any further payment requirements, paperwork, packing list, shipment, tracking, in house due date. Ensure all teams are using the same tracking documents correctly.Ensure the teams are looping in the Logistics Team in a timely manner, with all necessary paperwork and information, so supplier shipments can be arranged and no production time is lost.Notify the Finance Manager about deposits and payments in advance, keeping track of all paid and outstanding amounts. Ensure proforma and commercial invoices shared with the Finance Manager include the correct PO number and match the packing list.Actively manage atelier stocks of fabrics, linings, trims, fusings, etc. in all ateliers. Create alerts when materials run low to trigger reorders to meet D2C requirements.Ensure that all ateliers follow pre-set procedures on arrival and depletion of stock.Arrival - alert atelier teams on any inbound deliveries - Check quantity ordered against packing list, and actual delivered & invoiced; document any issues and raise with correct department and book inSet up templates and ensure local stock control records defects with images and address any issues to suppliers.Depletion of stock - correctly accounted for on an ongoing basis.In conjunction with the planning manager, use real time orders and raw material depletion to forecast necessary reorders. These are logically based decisions for which we need to refine our rule system for in the future to come. Work with all ateliers to ensure all raw materials are called the same across the business and physically labelled. This should mirror all coding methodology used in BeProduct and Zedonk.Ensure that everyone can access the stock level of all ateliers and give visibility to free stock and stock on order that can be sold by the team. Manage raw material liabilities in the agreed spreadsheets / systems.Reporting back to product development if any materials need to be resourced due to ongoing quality issues. Work with local purchasing to source / resource any raw materials necessary.Ensuring all ateliers order the correct fusing and other trims as set by the product development team.Additional ad-hoc responsibilities as and when required.Taking ownership of constantly improving the principles with which we make our purchase decisions and helping to plan stock timelines and liaise these with the production managers and sales team as well as ecommerce team together with the Head of product.Requirements: Experience in a Raw Materials role and an understanding of the luxury fashion environment.Good knowledge of trends and interest in fashion design and materials.Strong ability to communicate with factories and manage the critical path.Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.Strong team player, with hands on work ethic.Keen to follow and build processes, highly organised and can work well under pressure.Strong technical drawing skills; computer and hand.Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently as well as manage a team.
