Job Description And Responsibilities
Senior Director, Global Head, Real Time Payments – Enterprise FX, Settlement & Cross-Border Solutions
The Senior Director, Global Head, Real Time Payments, reports to the Global Head of Strategic Initiatives and is responsible for leading Visa’s regional and domestic expansion to underpin Visa’s Money Movement networks and businesses, together with driving Visa’s agenda across this space together with strategic partners, industry bodies and regulatory authorities.
The candidate will be an experienced market-facing leader with deep expertise across money movement, payment schemes, and related market-specific aspects such as regulatory considerations. A deep understanding of payments is required at both a strategic and operational level, together with practical experience in this space.
The candidate will establish and manage a range of external and internal initiatives, partnering closely with teams across Money Movement Solutions, Product, Technology and Legal/Regulatory. The candidate will have strong leadership experience in complex change initiatives in a global matrix organization, managing dependencies across internal and external teams, as well as across the Product portfolio to drive growth-oriented prioritization and execution.
The candidate will be expected to deliver near-term results and establish a basis for long-term growth through scalable solutions and commercial approaches. The candidate will have specific KPI and revenue/financial targets.
Core Responsibilities
This will be a high profile, multidisciplinary role and will require an experienced candidate who will:
Lead Visa’s Real-Time Payment activities
Responsible for leading Visa’s real-time payment expansion activities, including:
Market prioritisation – partnering with commercial, product, regulatory and business stakeholders to evaluate and prioritise target-markets for
Internal alignment and connectivity pre-requisites / eligibility – managing the internal alignment with cross-functional stakeholders, together with the pre-requisites required to facilitate connectivity
Market engagement – Leading, in partnership with key stakeholders, market engagement activities to support expansion
Portfolio Management
Responsible for managing the overall portfolio of teal-time payment expansion including internal governance such as executive steercos, roadmaps and budgets; together with associated review forums to engage the broader stakeholders and ensure alignment across Visa’s global business.
Delivery oversight
Provide leadership and management oversight across the implementation and execution activities across Product, Technology and Operations to facilitate real-time payments in target markets.
Strategic growth initiatives and partnerships
Responsible for enable growth into new markets, in partnership with strategic partners. This role will focus on enabling Visa to mobilise and achieve domestic money movement connectivity in priority markets to support Visa’s broader money movement ambitions.
Support industry engagement and inorganic acceleration
This role will play an active role in supporting industry engagement and considering opportunities for inorganic acceleration across this portfolio. This will include engagement on industry forums, representing Visa’s strategic ambitions with key stakeholders, and partnering with M&A teams on potential acceleration opportunities.
Qualifications
Proven experience in implementing new digital payments solutions in multiple markets, and experience in working with cross regional stakeholders
Deep knowledge in digital commerce solutions including experience in treasury solutions and payment operations
Highly skilled in the knowledge of various payment technologies and trends in new payment flows globally
Strong team player, self-motivated and able to work independently
Outstanding executive communication skills to develop presentations and associated summaries, including strong public speaking skills
Ability to influence, negotiate and drive results, ensuring that timelines are adhered to and any risks to the project are called out early
Organizational and leadership abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results
Self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully commercializing payments and technology products
Strong empathy for customers and understanding of value drivers in recurring abd network revenue business models.
Possess a high level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust and respect with business partners and suppliers
Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately
Excellent active listening and communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation necessary
