– GIS Specialist
An exciting opportunity for an experienced GIS Specialist to join a leading solar PV and co-located battery storage developer. Specialising in the development of large-scale, grid-connected solar and battery storage farms, you would be instrumental in delivery within the UK market.
As part of our GIS team, you will work closely with all departments, using your skills to support and enhance the development of utility-scale projects.

As a GIS specialist your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the development and management of our GIS system by updating the geospatial data and application improvements.
Providing technical expertise and guidance to our wider team within the online platform and web applications.
Identifying prospective solar sites in search areas that are close to identified grid capacity.
Processing new leads and finding the most suitable and feasible land for solar development.
Drafting feasibility reports, to inform the development team of risks and opportunities of new projects based on different types of constrains.
Regular update of our proprietary GIS database.
Drafting land registry compliant maps and plans for our projects.
Periodically report to management with updates on recent changes.
Support the Development Project Manager through the planning submission and decision process.
Liaising with our in-house design team to ensure designs are optimised and up to date.
Collating data pertaining to planned grid infrastructure upgrades across the various DNO’s and National Grid.
As a GIS Specialist, you will have the following skills and experiences:
Good knowledge of the development and maintenance of GIS databases.
Understanding of spatial data, including knowledge of regional GIS datasets.
Experience working with multiple spatial file formats and converting between them (CAD/KMZ/Shapefile/Raster/GDB).
Experience using GIS packages, preferably ArcPro. We will also consider any experience in ArcMap and Quantum (QGIS).
Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Surveying, Geography, Engineering, Planning, or a relevant field. We will also consider equivalent GIS working experience.
Experience in a similar role either within the Renewable Energy or Infrastructure Sectors would be beneficial.
Prior experience on renewable energy projects, would be preferred, although not strictly necessary.
Team player
with great communication skills and a structured way of working.
Proven ability to set priorities and effectively manage workload.
Initiative, a “can-do” attitude and a high desire to succeed.
